Building Better Parks Together

Meet Jordan

I’m Jordan Leick, rhymes with “bike” or “hike”. I feel incredibly fortunate to live in a city with such a wonderful park system, and I have a progressive vision to ensure that the system thrives and works for everyone.

Our parks are some of our most important Third Places. No matter how we use our parks, and regardless of whether we visit alone, with family, or with friends, we all benefit from easy access to beautiful, safe, and inclusive parks.

I’m a bridge-builder. I seek out diverse opinions and truly listen as I seek to understand complicated and nuanced issues. As Vice President of the Marcy-Holmes Neighborhood Association (and now as a board member of the new East Bank Neighborhoods Partnership), I’ve been a peacemaker in difficult neighborhood disagreements, and collaborated respectfully to find smart solutions.

I bring valuable experience to the table. After 10 years in corporate IT and data roles, and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota, I chose to move into public service as a Data Analyst for the Intelligence Division of the Minneapolis Police Department.

On the Minneapolis Capital Long-Range Improvement Committee, I’ve gained experience on parks projects by reviewing all parks capital budget requests and equity metric rankings, and visiting most of the parks in the Capital Improvement Plan.
